For those of you that do not know, my grandfather passed away on Sunday night. We had his funeral yesterday. I had to go out of town for a teacher conference this morning through the rest of the weekend.  I’ll go back to regularly scheduled reviews/posts/giveaways Sunday or Monday I will also be in the phone market when I get back to life.  I have decided I want to change carriers and get a better phone.  I’ve been looking at the Atrix and the incredible s virgin. I know a lot of people love their iPhone, but I have no desire for an iPhone. Anyone have any other phones they really love? Recently, Role Mommy hosted the “Is Your Kid A Character Contest” on behalf of the nationally syndicated comic strip, “Oh, Brother!” With the help of a panel of esteemed blogging mom judges, one lucky child won the chance to be featured in an Oh, Brother! comic strip panel. Last Friday my grandfather was flown by helicopter to ICU and is still there.  At this time, things have not changed for the better at all.   I am currently working and going back and forth to the hospital in the evenings so that doesn’t leave a lot of time for my online friends.  Please excuse the lack of posts, random brief posts, and my halt on the redesign and just switching back to an old theme until I have time to give my sites and you, my readers, the attention I would like to be giving! I received a new modem from HughesNet and have scheduled 12 posts already (and you should have noticed several go live today).  (Whew! I think it’s time for a low nicotine electronic cigarette! I have no Internet at all.  It has officially gone out and my sites are all blocked at school so I can’t even stay after and work on them.  I’ve gone today to bum some public wifi just to come tell you about the situation , but all of my handwritten posts are not with me since I wasn’t planning on this opportunity arising.  *sigh* So I’ll do a couple quick posts while I have access, probably bum more Internet Thursday, and hopefully my new modem will be here by Friday as they said.  (doubt it…lol)  I’m just praying the new modem will actually be the fix for all the problems I’ve had over the last few months. I am sad and proud to say that my brother left this week for his second overseas assignment – this time to Afghanistan.  He’ll be there until March.  I’m sad to see him leave and even more sad for him to be heading to such a dangerous area, but I’m also so proud of him for serving our country.  Please remember him (and all of our servicemen and women) in your thoughts and prayers each day while they are away.  This is such a hard time for many of them and their families.  We will miss you, Tommie, and can’t wait for you to get home! … Read entire article »
