A Perfect Example

As I flip over to my email between postings, I get a perfect example of the why send this to me?  How interesting it was that I was just then writing the post about not using anything on my face when I get an email for the best acne treatment? No acne here and I don’t treat anything.  I use hot water and a wash rag…that’s it folks.  But thank you for thinking of me. :-)

The Years Showing?

I’ve never been one to take care of my skin.  I hide my face in shame, but I’ve never been good about washing my face. I take a shower every morning..that’s when I wash my face, but I have to admit I think I’m start to show that I’m getting older, and I’m wondering if I need to start using anti aging skin products. And use them on a regular basis – ugh!  I hate of thinking of doing such, but if I do, I have to start looking at these products and deciding if the price matters?  Does any of it really help?  Just one more thing to add to my to do list.  :-)

Boil Water Notice

Since we came back to school from the holidays, our community has been under multiple boil water notices. The school is providing us with BOTTLED water. – yes a bottle of water for every student and teacher and then the big containers for refills – DAILY! Can you imagine how expensive that must be?  I keep thinking that as much as we are spending lately on bottled water, we might should look into some type of filtration method (such as the PureClean ukf7003axx) so that we don’t have to worry about all the issues that our community has with water. This is such a headache and that seems like such an easy fix (if it would work for that). Luckily I’m on a separate water company at home and haven’t experienced any of this. But if I had, I would be seriously looking for a way to get around this besides buying water for days at a time.

Working and Exercise is WORKING!

In the last 2 weeks, I’ve lost 6 pounds.  I’m so excited.  The only down side to me routine….I’m exhausted ALL THE TIME at home so I’m getting little blogging and lesson plans done.   Today I took the day “off.”  Why? Because I had a teacher workshop to go to.  That’s kind of sad when going to a workshop in the summer is a day off, huh?  LOL  While I should have been paying attention today I was going through emails as they too had piled up OF COURSE and I had one on Stimerex ES. I had never heard of it so I went to check it out.  I usually am so tempted and interested in reading about any diet supplement, but this time even though I read a few reviews to see they were positive, because I’m doing so well on my own right now, I barely gave them a second glance. I was thrilled for myself. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s Summer Time!!

Yep.  I’ve been not posting (I know, I know), but it’s now summer time.  Maybe it won’t be “officially” summer for 3 more weeks, but once school is out, we consider it summer at my house. I’ve had 2 pool naps since Friday – that’s summer!  We’ve cooked more outside than in – that’s summer!  Cameron is signed up for the summer reading program as well as dance and twirling – that’s summer.  The house is getting cleaned room by room, top to bottom – that ’s summer, and I dn’t like my weight and have to do something about it – that’s summer. :)  I’ve been looking at some different exercise videos and I think I’ve got a plan for daily exercise Read the rest of this entry »

End of the School Year

As the school year ends, we’re starting to get the paperwork and stuff to make decisions for next year.  I signed up this week to downgrade to our cheapest health insurance plan.  I’ve been paying close to $500 a month for the last two years.  And in those two years, we’ve made one small doctor’s office claim – that’s it!  I decided it just wasn’t smart to keep paying this much.  I’m just hoping this doesn’t jinx us and cause us to have a year of health issues this year.

They’ve also been around trying to sale other types of insurance – long term care, disability insurance, credit watch stuff, and on and on and on. I’ve watched a lot of people trying to make these decisions on these extras, and I wonder if I should be, but I don’t. :)  I just sign the no line and get out as fast as possible.

State of Texas Shuts Down Interscholastic Competitions

The Swine Flu has hit Texas – BIG! Not with infections, but with numbers. The University Interscholastic League (UIL), the head of athletic, music, and academic competitions in Texas, has issued instructions that all competitions are to be put to an immediate halt.  This was the announcement I received today from UIL.

Our baseball season is close to an end – only one more game, and we can’t complete the season until May 11th.  Track Regional Competition – postponed with no date set yet.  Academic state – postponed with no date set yet.  This is HUGE!  I feel totally taken by surprise.  I’m glad that our leaders are being cautious, but I’m wondering if it’s too cautious.  We have one game left – ONE.  *sigh*

Oh well. I guess that this keeps schools from coming into contact with each other should one school happen to be hit with the Swine Flu?  Maybe we worry about the lawyers swooping in because they did not take proper action and postpone everything?   (like the Mesothelioma lawyers) I don’t know, but consider this your official notice – all Texas public schools – that rescheduling is going to be chaotic.  Best of Luck to you!

Mini Review: One Stop Health Bank

I detest going to the doctor, and I always have. I let us get close to dying before I go to the doctor, and because of this, I know nothing when I hear that someone in our family or community has some sort of disease.  Who do I turn to for information? The Mayo Clinic.  The Mayo Clinic website (http://www.mayoclinic.com) provides information on almost every health problem we’ve come across.  From something common like a peanut allergy to mesothelioma, The Mayo Clinic always provides me with the information I need to know about  any health issue that I hear about and feel like I need to know.

Acne Woes? Mini Review

acnetix

I’ve been lucky to never have big acne problems, but as a parent I’ve had to start looking for acne solutions.  One new (or new to me) brand of acne treatment that I’ve found is Acnetix.  It is made of tea tree oil, white willow extract and green tea.  I’m always nervous about new acne treatments and this one is typical and makes large promises.  But this one also offers a money back guarantee that includes shipping and handling cost, and one bottle is suppose to last 4 months which makes it fairly affordable.
