More About Breast Cancer Awareness

As I went through my emails, I found another way for us to support breast cancer research – buying Orbit White Bubblemint gum Orbit White is donating 10 percent of every pack of Orbit White Bubblemint gum sold in September and October, up to $75,000, to Bright Pink, a breast and ovarian cancer program started by E! News hosts Giuliana Rancic and Lindsay Avner. For more breast health awareness, check out this video of Giuliana Rancic and Lindsay Avner as they “feel themselves up” during ‘Treasure Your Chest’ a live webcast to fight breast cancer hosted by Orbit White Bubblemint gum. In this video, Giuliana and Lindsay share (and show) tips for how young women can be proactive about their breast health, including bonding with their breasts regularly. Where Did You Come From?

This has been my thoughts with my sweet tooth lately.  I rarely eat sweets, but here lately I am CRAVING them, and I do mean every day wanting something really sweet.  At this rate I’m going to have to really find some type of fat burners or I’ll be gaining major pounds!  This is so not cool.  This thing  came fast out of nowhere, and it’s also got to go just as fast!  Any tips?  I am annoyed! … Read entire article »

Support Breast Cancer Awareness

Support Breast Cancer Awareness

Breast Cancer Awareness is very important to me as many friends and family members have either directly had breast cancer or someone in their family has had to deal with this experience. Our local community does various fundraisers throughout the year, but when I find free ways to support almost any charity, I always try to take advantage of it.  Pepperidge Farm is currently running such a promotion – for just a few moments of your … Read entire article »

Little Girl Growing Up

So we’ve made many beginnings in the past few months with my youngest daughter (age 10).  She started wearing deodorant in the spring, and over the summer started wearing pull-over bras (there’s probably a better name, but I don’t know it).  When school started we bought bras that actually snap in the back.  I’m not really liking it, but I guess it’s here – those beginning steps into womanhood.  Now I’ve noticed that it’s probably time to start talking about washing our face to avoid acne problems. I’ve also started researching the best acne treatment for tweens so that she can start the right habits.    She’s growing up way too fast! … Read entire article »

Off the Wagon…and Back On

So after losing 8 pounds, I fell off the healthy food, a little exercise track I had started and back into old habits of being exhausted and snacking.  But I jumped back on today and have already completed 32 minutes of WiiFit activities and plan to do my walking video this evening.  I’m determined to avoid pills for weight loss and do this with diet and exercise changes. Wish me luck.. If my Internet will work semi-regularly, I’m going to post regular updates. … Read entire article »

Making Money With Your Blog

I’m a part of a group of lovely ladies that blog, and so many of them make money from various items such as affiliates, sponsored posts, and ads. It is so neat to me that they find all these ways to make money with their websites.  Most of them are also stay at home moms so it allows them the luxury of staying at home, but it also allows them to contribute to the family income.  As a single mom, I’m interested in finding ways to make money without going too far and being all ads or sponsored posts.  As I look around, I think the affiliate options are the most non-interfering as they are just used in context, but then I’m not sure how many of my readers would … Read entire article »

Cameron’s Not The Only One

I’ve been pretty fortunate all my life with a clear complexion, except during that special time of the month. That has always been when I start to have a few trouble spots.  However, I’ve realized that as I got older the same treatments I”d been using forever, weren’t effective anymore, and it is now time to find adult acne treatment options. This is uncharted territory for me but I’ve been surprised at how many options there are out there. That was nice to know that I had various choices. Now to try them out. I’ve been looking for free samples or small sizes so that I can try different types.  Anyone else face acne issues? … Read entire article »

Tweens and Acne

I’ve been slowly watching my baby grow up and I’m not liking it. From buying those first undergarmets to deodorant to acne treatment – I’m just not ready for all of this. She is growing up way too fast for me.  I’m hating this…HATING IT! I’m now researching all these different types of treatments – today it was epiduo. Who knows what it will be tomorrow? And I’m really not ready for these next few changes that I know are just around the corner. I want my baby back!! … Read entire article »

Diet – Not Going Well

So the first two weeks of school – no problem. Dieted and lost 8 pounds, but the busy life and stress have hit full storm and I’m now exhausted at the end of the day – too exhausted to cook healthy. And snacking again instead of even sitting and eating meals.  I know I need to correct it, but then the day starts and time just doesn’t permit it.  I’ve been looking for some type of natural appetite suppressants that work since I am back to eating a little more than I wanted, but not really helping any. Starting tomorrow though even if I am starving, I’m going back to South Beach Phase 1 of no starches and sugars. Maybe that will get me back to motivated… … Read entire article »

Review: NutraSea

Review: NutraSea

We were recently sent a sample of NutraSea Kids and NutraSea+D.  Over the last couple weeks, my daughter has been taking the NutraSea for Kids, and I’ve taken the NutraSea+D. Before being selected for this trial, I had never heard of NutraSea.  As soon as I was notified we had been selected, I started my research, and was a little impressed. So what is NutraSea? NutraSea (Kids) is a liquid daily vitamin that contains ingredients such as … Read entire article »

South Beach – Week 1

I’ve completed one week of the South Beach diet. I haven’t been too impressed – had lost 2 pounds at day 5 (haven’t weighed today). But those 2 pounds are not going to slow me down. I am bound and determined and will stick to the plan. I have been really diligent and not cheated except for Saturday. It was awful.  I learned that traveling and South Beach = YUCKY Situation.  We went on a six hour trip (each way) and our stops were all at convenient stores. And I could find very little besides water at these stores that met with the Phase 1 requirements. After not eating at the first 2 stops, I was starving by the 3rd stop.  There was a Burger King in this store and I … Read entire article »

South Beach Day #1

South Beach Day #1

Not long ago when in one of my favorite online places, we were discussing weight loss and Laura, one of the members, mentioned that she had recently started the South Beach Diet.  She was so motivated that I had to find out more.  Luckily she is a blogger so I was able to read her progress at Got Chocolate and thought, I can do this, and I HAVE to do something. I went to Amazon and … Read entire article »
