Holiday Recommendation: Zhu-Fari Fun #Giveaway

Holiday Recommendation: Zhu-Fari Fun #Giveaway

I just knew that ZhuZhu Pets would be a quickly passing trend when we started investing money in the different pets and accessories, but surprisingly my daughter still plays with her ZhuZhu pets and is now excitedly playing with the new ones – ZhuZhu Zhu-Fari! Cameron has 6 different hamsters and more accessories than I could count, and when the Zhu-Fari package arrived she was as excited as she is on Christmas morning. Thanks to a special … Read entire article »

Coming Soon: Jake & the Never Land Pirates Holiday Episode

Coming Soon: Jake & the Never Land Pirates Holiday Episode

If you’ve read my blog much, you know that we are big Disney fans. I love to sit and watch the Disney cartoons with my daughter (maybe more than she enjoys them).  One of my favorite of the Disney Junior cartoons is Jake and the Never Land Pirates (of course I’m also a pirates fan). Since its launch, Disney Junior is continuously breaking all previous records for Disney Channel’s preschool programming. Jake and the Never Land … Read entire article »

Hot Stocking Stuffer: FyrFlyz

Hot Stocking Stuffer: FyrFlyz

My daughter is really bad about the “I want that” for every commercial with anything geared towards her age, and this time of year, the companies are doing some major promotion on television.  There are always the big things – this year it’s a new iPod Touch and a Kindle Touch., and it’s usually pretty easily for me to decide what I’ll buy off of her big lists, but then there’s all the small things. … Read entire article »

Fun Toys with a World Vision

Fun Toys with a World Vision

My daughter is almost out of the doll stage, but occasionally one comes around that she still “has to have.”  When I learned about Trash Can Kidz, I thought this is one that she’d love, and I’d love to promote as TrashCanKidz.com contributes 20% of all revenues received to improving the lives of the abandoned children in the world. Many companies are generous, but not many are this generous. So we signed up to be … Read entire article »

Moon Dough Ocean Pals

Moon Dough Ocean Pals

There are some toys that are timeless – generations of children love to play with them. Moon Dough will be one of those toys.  It is fun to handle. Kids love squeezing it and molding it into various shapes.  And the new dough formula hasa n even better consistency that previous versions, making it awesome to use their molds. Previous versions became crumbly after much use, but the new version is made a lot better.  … Read entire article »

Hexbug Nano Zombie Bugs A Big Hit!

Hexbug Nano Zombie Bugs A Big Hit!

My daughter was super excited when she found out we had been selected to host a HexBug Nano Halloween Zombie party. This was the second time we had been given the chance to review Hexbugs, and she knew her friends would love to come over and play with the Hexbugs. Even though it was a Halloween themed party, we had ours this past weekend as there are many community Halloween events planned for next weekend, and … Read entire article »

The True Story of Puss ‘N Boots

The True Story of Puss ‘N Boots

While I remember my parents reading me fairy tales growing up, I don’t think many children today can say that. I have to admit that even reading to my own daughter, there was such a large selection of books that a lot of the classics were overlooked. One overlooked fairy tale is that of Puss N Boots.  When I mentioned that we were receiving The True Story of Puss ‘N Boots, my daughter was really excited.  … Read entire article »

Twelve Unique Food Festivals

Locally we have the Blueberry Festival and the Watermelon Festival.  And you can’t forget the Poultry Festival (or as I call it The Chicken Fair).  Not food related, but we also have the Pineywoods Festival, the Forest Festival, and the Sassafrass Festival. I have always thought it would be neat to travel the country (or even the world) to find these fun and unique festivals that towns host. Other Interesting Festivals: The Midwest Tomato Fest – Hastings, Minnesota The Banana Festival – Sacramento, California Morton Pumpkin Festival – Morton,Illinois Corn Festival – Wilmington, Ohio National Baby Food Festival – Fremont, Michigan Wurstfest – New Braunfels, Texas These sound YUMMY! Banana Split Festival – Wilmington, Ohio Pensacola Crawfish Festival – Pensacola, Florida Maine Lobster Festival – Rockland, Maine Georgia Peach Festival – Byron and Fort Valley Georgia Strawberry Festival – Garden Grove, California Gatorfest – … Read entire article »

Do You Try to Solve the Mysteries?

Do you try to solve the mysteries of your favorite television series? My daughter does. I love to watch her as she tries to decide “who did it” on her favorite shows, but I tend to be the opposite. I like to just enjoy the show as it happens and not really think about who did something or what will happen in the next episode. I may eagerly await finding out, but I don’t try to figure it out. In The Mentalist Season 3, Patrick is on a mission to identify who Red John’s mole within the CBI is, and from watching Facebook and Twitter, I know many fans tried to predict who it was.  I find it interesting to watch people make the predictions and justify it, and it’s really … Read entire article »

The Real Red John?

In the television series The Mentalist, the main character, Patrick, lost his family to a serial killer named Red John. During season 3, he meets a man claiming to be Red John. I say claiming because I simply do not believe he is the “real” Red John. Why? Not because of the story itself, not because of the actor, but because it would remove such an integral part of the show for him to be the real Red John. Patrick is driven by the murder of his wife and daughter, and if he found closure, the dynamics of the show would change entirely. So just for the plain fact that this is a great show that I foresee lasting for many more seasons, I do … Read entire article »

How to Make Tummy Time Fun

How to Make Tummy Time Fun

You might remember that I recently posted about the great opportunity we have to be an Infantino Test Drive Mom.  The first shipment for review was a set of toys and fun small gadgets, but this time was the Right Angle Tummy Triangle.  We have lots of babies in the family right now including a grandson that was born last week and a niece on the way, and I can already tell that we are … Read entire article »

Charming Skills

Charming Skills

In Season 3 of The Mentalist, Patrick appears to be able to communicate with horses as a ‘horse whisperer’, charm guilty culprits into spilling their secrets and help a hired burglar out of a holding cell in less than 24 hours. Which of Patrick Jane’s skills would you most like to possess? What would you do with that ability? I would choose the ability to charm guilty culprits into spilling their secrets. I would love to … Read entire article »
