Coming Soon: Jake & the Never Land Pirates Holiday Episode

Coming Soon: Jake & the Never Land Pirates Holiday Episode

If you’ve read my blog much, you know that we are big Disney fans. I love to sit and watch the Disney cartoons with my daughter (maybe more than she enjoys them).  One of my favorite of the Disney Junior cartoons is Jake and the Never Land Pirates (of course I’m also a pirates fan). Since its launch, Disney Junior is continuously breaking all previous records for Disney Channel’s preschool programming. Jake and the Never Land … Read entire article »

Do You Try to Solve the Mysteries?

Do you try to solve the mysteries of your favorite television series? My daughter does. I love to watch her as she tries to decide “who did it” on her favorite shows, but I tend to be the opposite. I like to just enjoy the show as it happens and not really think about who did something or what will happen in the next episode. I may eagerly await finding out, but I don’t try to figure it out. In The Mentalist Season 3, Patrick is on a mission to identify who Red John’s mole within the CBI is, and from watching Facebook and Twitter, I know many fans tried to predict who it was.  I find it interesting to watch people make the predictions and justify it, and it’s really … Read entire article »

The Real Red John?

In the television series The Mentalist, the main character, Patrick, lost his family to a serial killer named Red John. During season 3, he meets a man claiming to be Red John. I say claiming because I simply do not believe he is the “real” Red John. Why? Not because of the story itself, not because of the actor, but because it would remove such an integral part of the show for him to be the real Red John. Patrick is driven by the murder of his wife and daughter, and if he found closure, the dynamics of the show would change entirely. So just for the plain fact that this is a great show that I foresee lasting for many more seasons, I do … Read entire article »

Charming Skills

Charming Skills

In Season 3 of The Mentalist, Patrick appears to be able to communicate with horses as a ‘horse whisperer’, charm guilty culprits into spilling their secrets and help a hired burglar out of a holding cell in less than 24 hours. Which of Patrick Jane’s skills would you most like to possess? What would you do with that ability? I would choose the ability to charm guilty culprits into spilling their secrets. I would love to … Read entire article »

Challenging Investigations

Challenging Investigations

I love crime, murder, mystery series.  Every time I see a new one come out, I just automatically program my DVR to allow me to learn to love it, and nine times out of ten, I love them especially the ones on TNT. The Mentalist is a great example of one of those shows. I didn’t know much about it at all, but I saw a few advertisements on television and programmed that DVR. I … Read entire article »

The Power of Friendship

The Power of Friendship

Friendship can drive you to do some pretty crazy things. From silly pranks in childhood to some more crazy stuff as you grow older, friends get you into all kinds of stuff.  The first memory I have of letting my friends lead the way and get me into acting different than the norm was in high school when our teacher told us, “If you don’t want to do it, leave.”  So all of us got … Read entire article »

My Favorite Season 4 Epsiode

My Favorite Season 4 Epsiode

I missed a few episodes from Season 4 of Gossip Girl, but my favorite story was the story of Blair and the prince during her vacation in Paris.  I loved the entire story of their vacation.  I’d love to go to Paris one day, but even at my best, I’d know that my vacation would never match Blair and Serena’s, but I sure did enjoy watching theirs and dreaming. Did you miss it? If so, you … Read entire article »

Would You Relocate?

Would You Relocate?

For the right job and leave your family and friends behind? In the new series, Nikita, this is just what happens. In the show Nikita, “The Division” recruits troubled kids, wipes their backgrounds and trains them to be spies and assassins.  They must leave their entire old lives behind though. No more connections with past family and friends. The job seems adventurous, but I could never leave my family or friends behind.  In fact, I went to a … Read entire article »

Dream Vacation

We all have a dream vacation.  In Season 4 of Gossip Girl, Serena and Blair went on a vacation I could only dream of when they vacationed in Paris.  I dream of traveling internationally, and actually took my first international vacation this past summer when I traveled to Panama. My absolute dream vacation would be to travel to all of the Disney parks and cruise on each of the Disney ships consecutively, spending enough time at each destination to really enjoy them and staying in luxury at each destination. So far we have been to Walt Disney World in Florida and have cruised on the Disney Wonder. However for each of these trips, we choose the lower level options. We never travel like Serena and Blair. Did you miss the … Read entire article »

Gossip Girl – Fashion?

While I do try to watch as many episodes of Gossip Girl each season as possible, I have to admit that this week’s subject has me stumped. Why? Because it revolves around the clothing of the characters, and I really just do not pay attention (on tv or real life) to clothing. But even with as little as I register, I know that both Serena and Blair are always dressed smart.  If I had the option to dress like these two ladies, I might be more interested in fashion. It seems that even when they aren’t “dressed up,” they look amazing.  When I’m not dressed up, I look slouchy.  But more than looking at my clothes, I’d focus on jewelry.  I’d love to look at designer engagement rings one day, … Read entire article »

First Impressions Are Sometimes Wrong

First Impressions Are Sometimes Wrong

I have to admit that I like a lot of television shows.  My dvr is usually recording 2 to 4 episodes a night so that I can veg out one or two evening a week and just watch television. I like a lot of different types of shows as well – comedies, medical dramas, legal dramas, action – you name it.  I probably like a few shows in each of those genres. One show I picked … Read entire article »

Coming Soon: Gossip Girl Season 4 DVD

Coming Soon: Gossip Girl Season 4 DVD

Last fall I started watching Gossip Girl pretty actively (you may remember my posting about it), or as actively as I can with such a busy life.  That’s always my problem with television series – catching each episode.  So I am really bad about catching up by buying the seasons on dvd, and Gossip Girl Season 4 will soon be out so I can catch up on the shows I missed. In Season 4, Chuck and … Read entire article »
