Leap Frog Sing and Learn with Us

Leap Frog Sing and Learn with Us

When learning is fun, children learn more and truly learn (thus remember thus skills).  Leap Frog has been one of my favorite learning toy manufacturers for a long time.  My daughter’s first Leap Frog toy was a little Alphabet Catepillar where each of his feet had a letter on it, and you could learn about the letter when you pushed his foot. It was such a hit in our house that I began specifically looking … Read entire article »

The Story of My Life

The Story of My Life

I have been hired by Warner Bros. WBWord division to promote Supernatural: The Anime Series on DVD/Blu-Ray. This is the second post in this series about Supernatural: The Anime Series DVD/ Blu-Ray availability. This weeks topics are: If you were to develop a story about your life would you want it to be told on film or animated in ink? Why? I would want mine to be told in animated ink because I’m a reader, and I would … Read entire article »

A Family in Crisis

A Family in Crisis

Everyone has different family experiences. I know families that do not turn to each other that would rather deal with their own problems, and there’s probably families like us.  For the most part, we do turn to each other when we have family crisis, but of course there are some family members that aren’t there.  For the most part though, we are a close knit family and when anyone needs anything, we all come together … Read entire article »

Powerful Female Role Models on Television

Powerful Female Role Models on Television

It is hard to find positive role models on television anymore.  I remember when I was younger, most of television was family friendly. However, I now can’t believe what is shown on television stations that are labeled as being “family” stations and even worse what is aired on television stations without that label. When you can find shows with those good female role models, you have to stick with them.  On my current list of good … Read entire article »

Female Friendship & Loyalty

Female Friendship & Loyalty

I’ve never been one to surround myself with large groups of people. Instead, I have a few close friends that I think the world of.  Each of these ladies are very strong minded, hard working teachers.  I have found that the women that I link to are women that will speak their mind.  We don’t teach the same fields, we don’t the same teaching styles, but we all have that one thing in common – … Read entire article »

Rizzoli & Isles Season One

I started watching Rizzoli & Isles from the first show last season and was instantly hooked.  It was only today though that I realized it was based on a book series by Tess Gerritsen.  And since discovering that I’ve ordered the first three books.  I love watching Maura and Jane and the way they work together and pull together as friends even though they came from such different backgrounds.  I think this has appealed to me from day one as some of my best friends and I are from such different backgrounds. I’m also a big fan of any type of mystery show. Tess was quoted as saying that the adaptation was a dream come true.  How would your life be adapted for a television series? Or if you are a … Read entire article »

Charter Moms

This post brought to you by Charter. All opinions are 100% mine. I am frequently envious of people who have cable for their television and Internet instead of satellite as I do. One cable company I’ve looked at over the years is Charter Communications.  It seems that every time I read about them, I read good things. Charter Communications is the 4th largest cable operator in the United States. They provide cable television, high speed Internet, and telephone services. They are also very interested in having satisfied customers and with the launch of Charter Moms have made it obvious that they know that it is frequently us mom’s that have to make the decisions, call tech support, and need to be satisfied customers. What is Charter Moms? Charter Moms is a facebook group where Charter … Read entire article »

NBC Preview: Community’s Christmas Episode

Have you seen the new series on NBC called Community?  Please note this is a show geared more towards an adult audience that families.  So please watch the first few times without your children to decide if you allow your children to watch more mature shows. Tomorrow night a new Christmas episode of Community (Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas) will air. For those of you who have not seen it, it is a “comedy series about a band of misfits who attend Greendale Community College.” The Christmas episode is in stop motion animation or  “claymation.”  What is this? Think of the Christmas classics such as Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, The Year without a Santa Claus, and one of my favorites, Santa Claus is Coming to Town.  The Christmas episode of  Community looks just like … Read entire article »

Men of a Certain Age (Giveaway)

Men of a Certain Age (Giveaway)

In addition to The Closer, another show will return to TNT on December 6 – Men of a Certain Age. Already a fan of Ray Ramano, I was anxious to try out this show when it came out.  Starring Ray Ramano, Scott Bakula, and Andre Braugher this is a show about men going through their “mid lives.” John Lennon once wrote, “Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.” For three men entering the … Read entire article »

The Closer (Giveaway)

The Closer (Giveaway)

One show that I watch almost religiously is The Closer on TNT.  I had never seen it until I was sent information and asked to do a review a while back, and I fell in love with the show. Since then I’ve become a loyal fan. If for some reason I miss it, I have it recorded on the DVR and watch it later. The new season starts December 6, and I can’t wait! As the new … Read entire article »

Glory Daze

Everyone seems to have a crazy college story. Everyone but me that is. It seems that I lived the most boring college life of all. I was living on my own, paying my own bills, and only went to class and then straight to work or back home. Because of that, I love to hear about friends and families college life (and that of ex students who are attending college now). TBS has a new show that focuses on those “glory daze” of college. Glory Daze is about a group of friends going to college in Wisconsin in the 1980s. “GLORY DAZE follows the fun — and awkward — misadventures of four freshmen as they navigate college life, trying to figure out who they are and … Read entire article »
