Holiday Recommendation: Stocking Stuffers for Teens/Tweens or Teacher Gift

Holiday Recommendation: Stocking Stuffers for Teens/Tweens or Teacher Gift

As my daughter grows older, it is getting harder and harder to pick out those little gifts.  She wants expensive technology now – not stickers and toys and candy.  But I’m afraid this Mama can’t ‘give her all those technology wishes. So how do you make that transition from little girl to tween? What do you put in her stocking? One thing I’ve done the last couple years though is give her an assortment of … Read entire article »

Decorating and Organizing with Zip ‘n Hang #Giveaway

Decorating and Organizing with Zip ‘n Hang #Giveaway

When it’s time to go somewhere, we have two very common phrases, “Where is my purse?” and if it’s during the school year, “Where is your backpack?”  Our house is tiny and while I’d love to have a table to some of those neat shelf/benches I’ve seen in magazines, there just is not room in our house. So my purse (and Cameron’s backpack) do not have a “home” and we have to find them each … Read entire article »

Time to Fall Back

Time to Fall Back

Tonight we must all set our clock’s back an hour for Daylight Savings Time. I hate the hassle of having to go change all the clocks in the house and all the household electronics. But it is that time again nevertheless. “Recently, HealthyWomen (http://www.healthywomen.org) conducted a survey of over 1000 women to uncover their busiest hours as well as tips to help cope with the crunch. Their survey revealed that most women feel most … Read entire article »

Back to School with Office Max

As we were anxiously going from store to store to buy back to school supplies for the girls and myself, I was offered the chance to participate in an exclusive webcase sponsored by Office Max and Peter Walsh on helping get organized to prepare for back to school. In addition, we were exposed to some products that Office Max was selling this year for back to school, and I had no idea that Office Max had such cute stuff. I truly thought of them as more of a standard office supply store – not with such cute items. When we recieved our sample package, it was really a duel between myself and the girls of who would get what items.  We started bargaining, if I get this, then you can have … Read entire article »

Review & Giveaway: Internet Password Organizer

Do you find that the number of websites you are joining seems to be growing almost daily?  For me – that’s an easy answer – YES! Do you find that with all the rules now for choosing a password that you can’t remember what passwords go to what sites? For me – YES!  Crap, how am I supposed to remember all those “at least one capital letter, one symbol and one punctuation mark?” Now I have the answer, and it’s so simple – a book from Innovention Lab, Inc called the Internet Password Organizer. The book is set up like an address book, divided by letters of the alphabet, but instead of recording someone’s contact information, you record the website’s URL, your username, password, and there’s a spot for notes that you might … Read entire article »

Organizational Idea for Your Purses

Are you a purse collector? I’ve never thought of myself as one, but it seems over the years, I have collected a lot of purses. As a teacher though, I’ve found what has really accumulated are my “teacher bags.” I’m not sure what non teachers call these (tote bags?), but I have my bag for bringing student papers back and forth, and then there’s my Saturday debate bag. Of course I also have a current reads bag where I store books I’ m wanting to read and consider adding to my curriulum. Then there’s the softball mom bag, and I’ve got a Friday Night Football bag too. Seriously teachers have a tote for EVERYTHING, and I can’t seem to get enough. Every time I go shopping, I check … Read entire article »
