Green It Tips

MomBloggersClub has partnered with Green Works to give one lucky mom a new washer and dryer.  Being that mine are old and most certainly not energy efficient, I clicked through to see what was involved and what a great method of entry they had – watching videos with great tips for being more green.  Yea – I need lots of those.

There were several I thought were very useful – from putting in energy efficient appliances (great, but costly) to repainting a room with VOC paint, using a composting bin, and adding household plants, but the tip that really hit home with me was using a filtered water pitcher instead of going though bottles and bottles of bottled water (which is what we do).  I bought a filtered personal water bottle for traveling, but haven’t jumped in and bought a filtered pitcher for the house yet.  What a simple way to decrease your household costs and your family’s contributions to trash (48 water bottles a week really add up).
