Holiday Recommendation: Hickory Farms Gift Baskets

When my brother was serving overseas, I was introduced to ordering gift baskets through Hickory Farms to send to troop members as they have special packages that offer free shipping to APO and FPO addresses.

Since discovering that, I have been happy to make a purchase through Hickory Farms when I get the chance.

Additionally, this year:

This holiday, for every signature Party Planner gift sold, Hickory Farms will donate $5 to the No Kid Hungry Campaign. Each $5 contribution can help connect children in America to 50 meals. (maximum donation $500,000, through 1/31/11). You can also add a donation of your own as you complete checkout.

I like knowing that my money is going to more than just a company who is going to stick it all in their own pockets, and between offering an easy way to remind your loved ones serving in the military that you are thinking of them and supporting No Kid Hungry, Hickory Farms is one of those companies that supports our country.

After making a few purchases over the last couple years through Hickory Farms, I was delighted this year to be selected to have a Hickory Farms party and share with others the great taste, variety, and causes that HIckory Farms supports.

I decided that the time of year we have the most people in our area is Thanksgiving as we have a large group of family and friends that come over. So after dinner I shared the variety of baskets that came in with each family.  Some opened theirs and started sharing immediately and others took there’s home, but everyone was excited to know about Hickory Farms.

Some of the baskets we were able to try out were the

Party Planner Gift Box ($45), Home For the Holidays Gift Box ($55), and Warm & Hearty Welcome Gift Box ($30).  We drew names to see who got to take each type home with them, and everyone loved them.  We had a few of the Welcome Gift Boxes left over and allowed the oldest kids’ names to go in a raffle.  They thought they were awfully grown up to win their own package of sausage and cheeses.

The child that surprised me the most was my daughter. She’s a picky eater, and in the past would not even try these packages that we ordered each year, but this year she decided they were wonderful.

Unfortunately, my SD card died after Thanksgiving, and I can’t share with you the pictures we took, but if you looking for a gift for a boss, grandparent, or other hard to shop for member of the family, consider a package from Hickory Farms (I send one to my grandmother that lives up north every year!).

Notice: I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Hickory Farms and received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
