Looney Tunes Eating Right Kids

looney2I am so excited to say that I’ve been offered the opporutnity to participate in the Looney Tunes Eating Right Kids program.

What is the Eating Right Kids Program?

Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Safeway, Inc. have teamed up to create a better-for-you line of food products for children, uniting flavor and nutrition with the iconic Looney Tunes characters. The line includes categories such as breakfast foods, portable meals, dairy, snacks and beverages. Each product will feature such world-renowned Looney Tunes characters as Bugs Bunny, Tweety, Taz, Sylvester, Wile E. Coyote, Roadrunner, Marvin the Martian and Daffy Duck, who serve as ‘Mother’s Helper,’ making it easy for moms to spot better-for-you food and beverage items for their kids that taste great.

Why am I excited to be a part of it?

Because I struggle on a daily basis to get my daughter to make healthy eating choices.  On multiple occasions, she has chosen to go to bed without dinner or without her evening play time when she had the choice of eating the food I had chosen for supper or going to bed. Though I love her dearly, she is a stubborn child. It is not uncommon for her to refuse to even try a new to her item because she “doesn’t like it” even though she’s NEVER tried it.  I’d love to take blame – say I’m a horrible parent and this is my fault for not forcing her, but I’ve tried over and over since she was a tiny little girl.  She’s always been stubborn and will go without instead of eating something she doesn’t think she likes. I’ve found that I can convince her to try fruits more often than vegetables.  What are your favorite ways to get kids to eat their fruits and veggies?

Interesting Facts:

  • Research has also shown that overweight and obese children generally go on to become obese adults, with all the chronic, weight-related health issues that involves, such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
