Review: All Star Buddies
Cameron is constantly on the search for new sites for her to play games on that I will ok and one of those sites that have received my stamp of approval is All Star Buddies.
This is a site for sports fans – and with Cameron playing softball and sometimes basketball, it is one that Cameron can enjoy. All Star Buddies is a sports-themed virtual world where kids can play their favorite sports in the comfort of home (and you don’t have to worry about balls breaking your precious treasures). The town in All Star Buddies is Varsity Heights.
The characters are in the shapes of animated sports balls:
Aren’t they cute?
Three of the cool places in Varsity Heights are the Stadium, the arcade and the school zone.
This site was created by 2 moms (Caryn Burns and Cindy Prince), and it becomes obvious quickly when you realize that your child is not just playing a sports game on the computer, but they are also learning about problem-solving, goal setting, good sportsmanship, teamwork, fitness, good nutrition and environmental awareness.
If your child takes to All Star Buddies as quickly as Cameron did, you’ll love that you can buy stuffed animal versions of each of the characters that would make great birthday or Christmas gifts. Better yet? They are less than $10 each. Cameron has the baseball, and it’s had to be washed a few times after she took it to show everyone.
The only thing I wish was different about All Star Buddies was that it had a softball character. Since that’s the support that we spend the most time on, I think Cameron would be even more entranced with this game if she could be a softball.
