Review: One World, One Love

He has sold more than 53 million records, won multiple Grammies for Best Male Vocalist, has a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, and won six American Music Awards.  Who is he? Michael Bolton.  And I received his new album, One World, One Love. I honestly had not thought of Michael Bolton in years.  I can remember knowing many Michael Bolton songs in the 90s, but it seems somewhere around there, my taste turned more to country and I knew less and less of anything but that. As I pushed One World, One Love into my computer and put on headphones, I was hopeful though. I did like Michael Bolton once upon a time. I even had some of those songs on my iPod.

And I was not disappointed. I didn’t even realize it at first, but within two or three songs I was moving my body with the music (you know, chair dancing…lol), and thinking WOW!  This was really good. I then turned it up and told the girls they’d have to make eye contact if they needed my attention. From this point, I listened to the entire album in one setting. In fact, I was surprised to find it over.

The music is mostly really upbeat and gets in your head.  The first time through I must admit that I barely heard the words. Just the music itself had me hooked. The second time around I paid more attention to the lyrics and realized there were good too.  This CD passed the test and will be put in the car.

Album Facts

If you are looking to branch out and try out some new music by an accomplished artist, I would have no problem recommending One World, One Love by Michael Bolton.
