South Beach – Week 1
I’ve completed one week of the South Beach diet. I haven’t been too impressed – had lost 2 pounds at day 5 (haven’t weighed today). But those 2 pounds are not going to slow me down. I am bound and determined and will stick to the plan.
I have been really diligent and not cheated except for Saturday. It was awful. I learned that traveling and South Beach = YUCKY Situation. We went on a six hour trip (each way) and our stops were all at convenient stores. And I could find very little besides water at these stores that met with the Phase 1 requirements. After not eating at the first 2 stops, I was starving by the 3rd stop. There was a Burger King in this store and I saw they had Breakfast Bowls. I went to order one, minus the potatoes, and the young lady behind the counter informed me there was no customizing of them. So….I bought another bottle of water. Come the 4th stop, I decided this was ridiculous. So I had to eat. I tried to still make the best decisions I could with what they had, but I did have to have some sugar.
We had dinner at Golden Corral though and I immediately got back on track. Even though I love buffet mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, and mac and cheese, I avoided each of them and had salad, tilapia, and sugar free jello.
So those 2 pounds are really disappointing, but I’m still on track, and will continue on. I am bound and determined that somehow some way I will lose some of this extra weight. Stick with me for regular updates.
