Fun Music: Making Silly Faces
“The combination of wit, intelligence, skilled instrumentation and a genuine understanding of what children are all about put this at the top of our list.” – Lahri Bond, 2010 Parents’ Choice® Gold Award review of In The Nick of Time’s People, Places & Things My daughter received Coconut Groove, one of Nick Deysher (who records and performs as In The Nick of Time)’s cds, a couple years ago, and we literally wore it out. It has been … Read entire article »

….Featuring Nora Jones
Thanks to One2One Network, I received the new Nora Jones cd to listen to and review. The CD is packed with 18 songs. I’ve only heard a few Nora Jones songs in the past. I liked them, but wasn’t really what you call a fan. That may just be different now. She has an amazing voice, and the album is a great mixture of slow songs and upbeat songs. The album is called …Featuring because each … Read entire article »

Jonas Brother Concert = GREAT SHOW
Two weekends ago I took my daughter to see the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato in their Camp Rock 2 tour at the Woodlands in Houston, Texas, and was really surprised at how much I enjoyed the show. While the music is not necessarily my favorite type, I was impressed at the overall show and the entertainment. From huge screens with great images, great music, and lots of fire and such. I thoroughly enjoyed the show. The opening was a little much for me with the “Camp Rock Friends” and to be honest, I wasn’t as impressed with Demi Lovato as I thought I would be, but I really, really enjoyed the Jonas Brothers aspect of the concert. Their music was great – great voices and great music. While each has … Read entire article »

Review: One World, One Love
He has sold more than 53 million records, won multiple Grammies for Best Male Vocalist, has a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, and won six American Music Awards. Who is he? Michael Bolton. And I received his new album, One World, One Love. I honestly had not thought of Michael Bolton in years. I can remember knowing many Michael Bolton songs in the 90s, but it seems somewhere around there, my taste turned more to country and I knew less and less of anything but that. As I pushed One World, One Love into my computer and put on headphones, I was hopeful though. I did like Michael Bolton once upon a time. I even had some of those songs on my iPod. And I was not disappointed. I didn’t … Read entire article »

Contest: Wizards of Waverly Place Soundtrack
I was recently sent a copy of the new CD, Wizards of Waverly Place Soundtrack, and I have to admit that I was as anxious as Cameron was I think for it to arrive. I have loved hearing Selena Gomez sing Magic on the Disney Channel. The day the CD arrived, Cameron ran off to her room with it and put it in her DVD player and sang and danced (and had it turned up loud enough that I also listened in the living room at the same time). The next time we got in the car, it was put in the CD changer in the car, and it hasn’t left since. We have 3 CD’s in there right now – Wizards, Hannah Montana, and Taylor Swift. My dad rode with … Read entire article »

Music For the Family
I recently received a copy of In The Nick of Time: Coconut Groove by Nicholas Deysher, and I have to say that I have a love/hate relationship with this CD. Why? Because it’s so much fun my daughter wants to listen to it ALL THE TIME! We really only have a CD player and that’s in the car so every trip we’ve taken since this CD came in the mail, I’ve heard, “Can I listen to Hang with Me?” “Mom, how does The Autumn Song start? Can I hear it?” Not only do I know all the words by heart, but many people that just ride with us from time to time also know the songs. I have to admit that I enjoy … Read entire article »

I’m a New Fan
Ok..I should start this by saying that I’m a country music fan and that tends to be about all, but I’ve recently been sent 3 new CD’s to try out and tell you about, and I’ve been surprised that I actually liked each one. One that you’ll hear about in a couple days quickly became a favorite to Cameron, and the one that I’m going to share with you today has become one of my favorites (and I really expected it to be my least favorite to be honest) – Corneille: The Birth of Cornelius. Obviously being a country music fan, I’d never even heard of Corneille. I popped it into my computer to listen to whiel blogging one day and have kept it in there every day since. … Read entire article »
