As a school teacher, I’m always interested in anything educational that comes my way to review. So imagine how excited I was to receive the opportunity to review an entire school – an online school, Online School Solutions (http://onlineschoolsolutions.com), a division of KC Distance Learning.  After going through the site, this is what I learned: Very interesting that it goes down to 3rd grade. I would have not thought of utilizing an online school for children that young. Great for parents that do want to home school, but maybe don’t know where to really start with educating their children at each grade level. State of Texas Shuts Down Interscholastic Competitions

The Swine Flu has hit Texas – BIG! Not with infections, but with numbers. The University Interscholastic League (UIL), the head of athletic, music, and academic competitions in Texas, has issued instructions that all competitions are to be put to an immediate halt.  This was the announcement I received today from UIL.   Our baseball season is close to an end – only one more game, and we can’t complete the season until May 11th.  Track Regional Competition – postponed with no date set yet.  Academic state – postponed with no date set yet.  This is HUGE!  I feel totally taken by surprise.  I’m glad that our leaders are being cautious, but I’m wondering if it’s too cautious.  We have one game left – ONE.  *sigh* Oh well.
