Yum! Yum! Anytizers Rock!

Every year we have certain meals that are always just a meal of appetizers.  A few of those just passed – Christmas Eve at my grandmother’s and New Year’s at my grandmothers.  In addition, we do major appetizers only for any of the bowl college football games and my favorite – The Super Bowl!  Over the years, I’ve tried out A LOT of different pre prepared appetizers because I”m all about quick and easy, especially on those occasions when there are so many other things to do.  I was recently sent 2 coupons to try the Tyson Anytizers for free.  It’s a funny story how that 2 ended up being 4.  You see, after I had checked out the first time, I realized I forgot to give the cashier my coupons.  … Read entire article »

Electronic Sales

It seems that the stores know that the holidays will be here before we know it.  Have you noticed thelarge amount of electronics sales lately? I’ve noticed some great deals on laptops and mp3 players as I’ve been browsing (since I know people in the market for both), and today while looking at different ways to mount our electronics, I noticed some amazing deals on plasma tvs. I’m not in the market for a new television as all of ours work and are relatively new, but if you are planning to buy any electronics, I think between now and the end of the year, we’ll see some great bargains. … Read entire article »

The Latest “Gift”

Anytime Cameron goes out with any of her grandparents, she always comes home with some speical “gift” they gave her.  I always feel so “lucky.”  The things that I talk her out of? They buy without hesitation….really too immature for her? she’ll only play with it for a week? Doesn’t matter when you’re out with grandparents, right?  The latest “gift”?  A keyboard.  Yea….because she just really needed one.  Now does she know how to play piano? Of course not. Does she want to take lessons? NOPE!  She just wants a keyboard.  Yea.  The good news? It didn’t come with a power cord, it came with batteries!  Hmm…..wonder how long those batteries are going to last!  :) … Read entire article »

Continuing to Budget Shop

In looking for ways to “dress up” the house but stay on budget, I’ve started looking for discount furniture. I’d like to add a couple pieces to the house and I’d really like to replace the entertainment center. Locally we have a couple places that deal in just discount furniture. I’m not sure the story behind the furniture, but I’ve bought multiple pieces of furniture from them including my couch and love seat.  And then we have some not discount dealers that just NEED the business and are selling at great prices.  If you aren’t in a financial crunch, this may just be the time to shop for some of those larger purchases around your house. … Read entire article »

Shopping Wisely

How has this economic turn impacted your shopping? I have attempted to go back to clipping coupons (though they’ve stopped carrying EVERY major Texas newspaper in my town!) and will start adding Kroger grocery shopping to my list as they double and triple coupons and you get .10 a gallon off your gas every time you spend $100 in groceries (hey! I do that every time I walk in the dang grocery store). I watched a special last night on communities joining together and buying wholesale products and dividing them amongst the friends to get good deals. I’ve been trying to decide if renewing my SAM’S membership would be worth it. … Read entire article »

Have you ever been shopping and head out to load all of your stuff in the car only to turn your back and find that your buggy has rolled off – with your items, your purse, or worse yet, your child? It’s simple – us moms just don’t have enough hands for all the tasks we need. So why didn’t one of us come up with this great idea? I’m not sure, but it truly is one of those ideas that are so simple, I can’t beleiver we’ve gone so long without them – The CartStopper! What is a CartStopper? Bella Sara – Pokemon For Girls?

Last week, my mom mentioned that I had a package at her house from Team Mom. After we discussed her holding my packages and forgetting to tell me or bring them to me, she produced the package. I was totally impressed from the time I opened the package and saw the Bella Sara cards. They were so cute. When I showed them to Cameron, I found out that other girls in her class had brought these to school and she had “always wanted them.” I asked her how they worked and she explained to me that the girls brought them to school and traded them during recess. I immediately remembered when my little brothers use to load up their Pokemon cards and take them to … Read entire article »
