First Impressions Are Sometimes Wrong

First Impressions Are Sometimes Wrong

I have to admit that I like a lot of television shows.  My dvr is usually recording 2 to 4 episodes a night so that I can veg out one or two evening a week and just watch television. I like a lot of different types of shows as well – comedies, medical dramas, legal dramas, action – you name it.  I probably like a few shows in each of those genres. One show I picked … Read entire article »

Crap! Just realized

that I even though I read a lot of tv reviews over the weekend, I never actually ordered my daughter a new tv, and my oldest is taking my youngest daughter’s television to college Saturday.  Dang, dang, dang! I really don’t want to pay in store prices so I guess I’ll stay up a little later and order her a blasted television.  Hoping it will be in by Saturday or she’ll be sleeping with me every night until it does. *sigh* My oldest wanted as big a tv as we could do for her living room at college, and my youngest has the largest television in the house except for the living room (only because hers was the one that needed replacing last and I found a really good deal).  … Read entire article »

Rizolli & Isles Giveaway

// I received a notice from a contact of mine about a new series that I thought sounded ok.  Then I happened to see the preview the next day and didn’t even realize at first that it was the same show, but when I saw the preview, I immediately went to the DVR and set it up to record so I wouldn’t miss it.  What was the show? Rizzoli & Isles on TNT. I watched it this week and have now set it to record all new episodes.  Now it will be added to my growing list of television that I record and then have to pile up and watch them all in one day (thank you TNT for giving me another show to love…lol) since life gets so … Read entire article »

New Lifetime Series: One the Road with Austin & Santino

I recently received the promotional materials and the premier episode of the new Lifetime series – On the Road with Austin & Santino. Lifetime is one of the few channels that I consider imperative when choosing which package to buy on our television lineup. Their series are always something I look forward to premiering, and most of them end up being DVR’d so that I don’t miss any of them. So when I was contacted about On the Road with Austin & Santino, I was like, “Heck yea! Let me tell my readers about it.” On the Road will premier after Project Runway on July 29th. It will be a fashion design makeover series that will feature Austin Scarlett and Santino Rice as they travel to small towns … Read entire article »

How Much and Where to Buy

We are remodeling Cameron’s room. She got a new loft bed. I’ve never heard of this, but when I started looking, I new it was exactly what we were looking for. She has a small room with a low ceiling. Which means when you get all of her belongings in there it looks REALLY cramped. The loft bed is like a top bunk bed without a bottom, but it is shorter than a traditional bunk bed (which works great with our low ceiling). It has allowed us to use more floor space now that the bed is off the floor. We ended up putting mini dressers to put under her bed. Now I want to take her large dresser out of her … Read entire article »

31 Days of Oscars

If you like award winning movies – from the old to the new – now is the time to become a regular Turner Classic Movie fan. Currently TCM is running their 31 Days of Oscar. During this festival, every film that TCM shows has received at least one Academy Award and/or nomination. These350 movies will be shown unedited and without commercials. (This would be a great tim to DVR some favorites). The series started February 1st and will end March 3rd. TCM chose a really cute theme this year called “TCM University.” The movies are categorized by Departments and Course Offerings. How cool is that? Today’s subject – my favorite – ENGLISH….Today you can view, Intro to Charles Dickens, Shakespeare Tragedies, and British Novelists … Read entire article »

Premiere: New Season & New Show

I’ve been given an awesome chance to preview the new season of The Closer and the premier of a new show called Trust Me. Both will begin on TNT on Mnday January 26 (at 8 and 9 CST). I had seen a few episodes of The Closer, but for some reason never set the DVR to keep up with them. After watching the preview that I was sent, I have already set up my DVR to record the entire season (along with Trust Me). The Closer is a hit crime drama (one of my favorite types of TV shows) starring Kyra Sedgwick. This season will have five new episodes airing each Monday. During this season you’ll find out the fate of Detective Sanchez and whether or not Brenda … Read entire article »
